Recap: Hammond Golden Bears vs. Marriotts Ridge

The Hammond Golden Bears stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 73-16 victory over Marriotts Ridge on the road. The victory was just business as usual for Hammond, who after 17 games remain undefeated this season.

Hammond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sara Yarnell, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Yarnell has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Hammond pushed their record up to 17-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marriotts Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-17.

Hammond will head out on the road to face off against Long Reach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hammond has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 248 points over their last four games. As for Marriotts Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Oakland Mills at 5:30 p.m. Marriotts Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Oakland Mills is ranked 52nd).
