Baseball Recap: Strawberry Crest Has No Trouble Against Tampa Bay Tech

Strawberry Crest got themselves on the board against Tampa Bay Tech on Tuesday, but Tampa Bay Tech never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Saxon Shah made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reuben Vasquez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nico Cappucci was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Strawberry Crest's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strawberry Crest will challenge Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Strawberry Crest 3.4, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will face off against Plant at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
