Basketball Recap: Pocomoke Skates Past Washington with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Pocomoke over Washington in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pocomoke Warriors blew the Washington Jaguars out of the water with an 82-48 final score. The Warriors pushed the score to 68-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had no chance of recovering from.

Pocomoke's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but ZYMIERE WALKER led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on nine points, 12 boards, and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of MICHAEL AMES, who went 5 for 12 en route to 17 points and three blocks.

Pocomoke smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Washington lost, don't look at Elijah Thomas. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 17 on his way to 27 points. That was a full 56.3% of Washington's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Emaree Corbin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Pocomoke's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Washington, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
