Baseball Recap: Washington Warriors vs. Newcastle Racers
Washington dropped their record down to 18-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Newcastle Racers, falling 8-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Racers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.
Washington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Brady, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.
As for Newcastle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-2 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.
On Newcastle's side, Jackson Schanuel was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI Schanuel has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sheamus McLaughlin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.
Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newcastle, they will face off against Bishop McGuinness at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
