Softball Recap: North Murray Wins Going Away Against Dalton

North Murray had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Dalton on Monday. The Mountaineers were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Catamounts. The Mountaineers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

North Murray got a great performance from Chanley Langham as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Langham a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Kaitlyn Malone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lily Beavers, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

North Murray hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

North Murray's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Dalton, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, North Murray will take on North Cobb Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dalton, they will square off against Allatoona at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
