Basketball Game Preview: Portland Panthers vs. Rossview Hawks

The Portland Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Rossview Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Portland is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing White House-Heritage: they outscored them in every quarter. Portland blew past White House-Heritage 54-28 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 24 point advantage.

Meanwhile, couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 58-31 stomp they got against White House-Heritage. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Patriots are ranked 264th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Portland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. As for Rossview, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Things could have been worse for Portland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-46 loss to Rossview when the teams last played back in November of 2015. Can Portland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
