Baseball Game Preview: Davis County Mustangs vs. Knoxville Panthers

The Davis County Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Knoxville Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Davis County took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cardinal, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Comets 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, Knoxville narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 6-5.

Knoxville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Davis County, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Davis County couldn't quite get it done against Knoxville when the teams last played back in June of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
