Football Recap: Checotah Wildcats vs. Bristow Pirates

Checotah extended their postseason success on Friday against Bristow. They had just enough and edged the Bristow Pirates out 35-32. 35 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for Elijah Thomas, who picked up 270 receiving yards and four touchdowns. His longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Checotah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kaden Rice, Cole Rolland, and Shooter Eagleburger picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Bristow still got an impressive performance from Darien Dansby, who rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards Dansby has posted since back in September.

The victory was the third in a row for Checotah, bringing their record for this year to 8-4. As for Bristow, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Checotah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 68-21 defeat against Sulphur on the 29th. Bristow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
