Softball Recap: Riverhead Falls to Longwood in First Game of Season

Riverhead kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 12-6 to the Longwood Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Waves have suffered against the Lions since April 10, 2017.

Madison Saladino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Mya Marelli was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Coming up, Riverhead will face off against Patchogue-Medford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
