Softball Recap: Indiana Beats Freeport for Their Third Straight Victory

Indiana won against Greensburg Salem on Wednesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Little Indians walked away with a 4-1 win over the Freeport Yellowjackets. Winning may never get old, but the Little Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Samantha Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.8 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Cass, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Freeport, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
