Bennington piles up the points against Concordia

Recap: Bennington Badgers vs. Concordia Mustangs

The Bennington Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by Concordia at home to the tune of 72-43. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Concordia is ranked 219th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Presley Baca was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Harper Bohaboj was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals and five assists.

Concordia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliza Schmidt, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Hahn, who scored 11 points.

Bennington's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.6 points. As for Concordia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Bennington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ralston at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Concordia, they will head out on the road to face off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
