Basketball Recap: Forsyth Country Day Furies vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

Forsyth Country Day lost against Ravenscroft back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Forsyth Country Day Furies fell 55-48 to the Ravenscroft Ravens. The Furies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Forsyth Country Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lila Kelly posted 26 points. Kelly's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Gigi Lyons was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ravenscroft to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Cronin, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Cronin a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Mason, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Forsyth Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Ravenscroft, their record now sits at 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forsyth Country Day will challenge Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wesleyan Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season. As for Ravenscroft, they will take on St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in St. Mary's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Ravenscroft has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
