Recap: High Plains Storm vs. Nebraska Lutheran Knights
The High Plains Storm lost against the Nebraska Lutheran Knights back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. High Plains took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nebraska Lutheran. High Plains has struggled against Nebraska Lutheran recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Nebraska Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Eldridge, who scored 11 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eldridge has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Vogt, who scored nine points along with five steals.
High Plains' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Nebraska Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
High Plains will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cross County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Nebraska Lutheran is ranked 108th).
