Basketball Recap: Leesville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eunice last Friday, Leesville came back down to earth. The Leesville Wampus Cats fell to the Iowa Yellowjackets 72-67. The loss continues a trend for the Wampus Cats in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Leesville lost on Tuesday, don't look at Shyann McCummings. Despite the final result, she posted 27 points. Another player making a difference was Tekeirah Harris, who put up 14 points.

Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Iowa, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leesville will welcome LaGrange at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Iowa, they will be playing at home against Glenmora at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
