Basketball Recap: Lathrop Takes a Loss

If Lathrop was riding high fresh off their 68-26 takedown of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lathrop Malemutes received a blow on Friday as they fell 77-61 to the Sitka Wolves. The Malemutes haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Sitka, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Lathrop and Valdez will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Valdez knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Lathrop likes a good challenge. As for Sitka, they and Barrow will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Barrow will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sitka surely won't give up without a fight.
