Basketball Recap: United Christian Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against King's Christian

There's no place like home for United Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past the King's Christian Knights with a 38-34 victory on Thursday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but United Christian Academy was the better team in the second half.

Loss or not, King's Christian got some senior leadership from Lily Welsh and Angelina Alicea. Welsh went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points and three steals, while Alicea posted four points along with 11 rebounds and six steals. Vivian Galvis was another key player, putting up five points and seven steals.

United Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for King's Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
