Baseball Recap: La Canada Spartans vs. Arroyo Knights

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Canada). They put the hurt on the Arroyo Knights with a sharp 12-1 victory on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their two-run performance the game before.

Fritz Phillips looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Park was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Flowerhogan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

La Canada was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
