Baseball Recap: Lookout Valley Comes Up Short

Lookout Valley lost against South Pittsburg last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lookout Valley Yellowjackets came up short against the South Pittsburg Pirates, falling 14-1. The Yellowjackets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Lookout Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cason O'Connor, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that O'Connor brought in this season.

Lookout Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for South Pittsburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5.

Coming up, Lookout Valley will head out to face off against Howard Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lookout Valley has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for South Pittsburg, they will welcome Polk County on Thursday. South Pittsburg is facing Polk County at the right time seeing as Polk County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
