Volleyball Recap: Newton Local Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Newton Local lost against Arcanum back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Indians took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Newton Local saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Laila Avila had 11 digs. Vivien Bowser also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Grace Fry was nothing short of spectacular for Arcanum: she had nine digs and two aces. What's more, Fry racked up 19 assists, the most she's had over her last six matchups.

Newton Local now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Arcanum, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton Local will take on Houston at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Arcanum, they will face off against Brookville at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
