Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Huskies vs. Chapel Hill Tigers

The Heritage Huskies will face off against the Chapel Hill Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Heritage took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Leesville Road by a score of 9-4.

Blake Tillery looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Heritage let Andrew Kilgore and Leighton Cash run wild. Kilgore went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Cash went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Kilgore a new career-high. Daniel Aldridge also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Chapel Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Seaforth.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Oliaro, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Chapel Hill back to even at 2-2. As for Heritage, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Heritage has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chapel Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.8 strikeouts.
