Softball Recap: St. Anthony's Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

St. Anthony waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the St. John the Baptist Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 back in March.

Sophia Lee was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Gabriella King was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.

St. Anthony's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in five consecutive games.

St. Anthony's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for St. John the Baptist, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coincidentally, St. Anthony's and St. John the Baptist will both be playing Kellenberg Memorial the next time they take the field. The Friars will head out to face the Firebirds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
