Volleyball Game Preview: Merritt Island Mustangs vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

The Merritt Island Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the North Broward Prep Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Merritt Island comes in on 23 and North Broward Prep on 13.

Merritt Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over South Walton.

While Merritt Island might've won, it sure wasn't easy: South Walton scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Merritt Island's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reece Loggins, who had 22 digs and seven assists. That's the most digs Loggins has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Niazi, who had 18 digs.

Meanwhile, North Broward Prep got the win against Lemon Bay on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant North Broward Prep was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-15, 25-11.

Merritt Island's victory bumped their record up to 29-2. As for North Broward Prep, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.
