Baseball Recap: Lake Park's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Park ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the St. Charles East Fighting Saints. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted since April 11th.

Lake Park got a massive performance out of Gavin O'Neil, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave O'Neil a new career-high. Jason Keefe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lake Park's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10. As for St. Charles East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Lake Park will challenge Glenbard North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Charles East, they will head out to take on St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The North Stars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Fighting Saints surely won't give up without a fight.
