Pine Lake Prep had lost six straight, but after bumping their record up to 12-9 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Union Academy Cardinals with a sharp 13-7 win. Considering the Pride have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Union Academy, their record is now 16-6. They haven't had much luck with Pine Lake Prep recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Union Academy's part, Reeves R was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ethan Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Coming up, Pine Lake Prep will square off against Community School of Davidson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Academy, they will welcome South Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
