Baseball Game Preview: New Foundations vs. Community Academy of Philadelphia Bruins

New Foundations has gone a perfect 4-0 against Community Academy of Philadelphia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. New Foundations will face off against Community Academy of Philadelphia at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While New Foundations' victory against Solebury wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. New Foundations skirted past Solebury 5-3. New Foundations hasn't had any issues with Solebury recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Community Academy of Philadelphia had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Wolfpack.

The team relied heavily on Jaison Monegro Torres, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Mulero, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Community Academy of Philadelphia's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for New Foundations, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

New Foundations took their victory against Community Academy of Philadelphia when the teams last played back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Foundations since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
