Basketball Game Preview: Unioto Shermans vs. Parkersburg Big Reds

The Unioto Shermans and the Parkersburg Big Reds will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Unioto's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

Two weeks ago, Unioto took their match with ease, bagging a 79-17 victory over Southeastern. The Shermans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Milee Smith, who went 11 for 16 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Her evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Hamilton, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points.

Meanwhile, Parkersburg's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They took a 74-60 bruising from Fairland. The loss was the Big Reds' first of the season.

Unioto pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Parkersburg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
