Baseball Game Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Geneva Eagles

The Grand Valley Mustangs will take on the Geneva Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Geneva took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Grand Valley, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Grand Valley turned things around against Berkshire on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Badgers. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Badgers on their field since May 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Geneva didn't have quite enough to beat St. John on Tuesday and fell 6-4.

Andrew Oros made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Geneva: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

Geneva's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Grand Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Grand Valley might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Geneva in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
