Basketball Recap: Enloe Takes a Loss

Enloe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 45-26 to the Sanderson Spartans. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 44-20 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Among those leading the charge was Idah Ongwacho, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and four steals. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Stephens, who put up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Enloe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Sanderson, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-16.

Enloe and Sanderson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Enloe (ranked 537th) will meet Athens Drive (ranked 193rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sanderson will face off against Broughton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 360 places (539 vs. 179).
