Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Wildcats vs. Riverbend Bears

Mountain View is 2-8 against Riverbend since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Mountain View Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Riverbend Bears at 7:00 p.m.

Mountain View is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Charles J. Colgan.

Meanwhile, Riverbend beat Stafford 49-39 on Thursday. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Indians are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverbend's record is now 10-3. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Mountain View came up short against Riverbend when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 63-55. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
