Baseball Recap: Bishop McCort Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bishop McCort can now relate to. They came up short against the Mount Union Trojans on Thursday, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crushers have suffered since April 24th.

Bishop McCort's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Mount Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Bishop McCort and Mount Union are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Crushers will face off against Freedom Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Bishop McCort surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount Union, they will take on Montgomery at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Red Raiders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
