The Gresham Gophers will challenge the Century Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gresham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Gresham made easy work of Lakeridge and carried off a 16-5 victory. The Gophers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Ayden Gardenhire and Despina Seufalemua were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Gardenhire pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Seufalemua pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gardenhire has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Gardenhire scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Seufalemua went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Alyssa Grover was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. La Terra Foster-Frison was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-5.
Gresham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Century unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Beaverton by a score of 3-2.
Century saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Kinney, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Bailey Udasco also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Century's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Gresham, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Gresham has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Century struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gresham beat Century 7-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Will the Gophers repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
