Football Recap: West Caldwell Warriors vs. Hibriten Panthers
West Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Hibriten Panthers on the road and fell 38-8. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Panthers are ranked 170th).
West Caldwell wouldn't let Hibriten keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Brian Jones was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.
West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hibriten, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newton-Conover at 7:30 p.m. on September 20th. West Caldwell is facing Newton-Conover at the right time seeing as Newton-Conover is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hibriten, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they face off against South Point at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
