Soccer Recap: Mercedes Comes Up Short

Mercedes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Rivera Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while the Raiders are ranked 99th).

Mercedes' loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Rivera, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Mercedes will take on Lopez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mercedes has given up an average of 6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Rivera does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
