Basketball Game Preview: Norwalk Lancers vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

The Norwalk Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Bellflower Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwalk is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Norwalk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Downey.

Despite their loss, Norwalk saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Diego Morales, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Andruw Castellanos, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bellflower waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They snuck past the Bears with a 47-43 win. That's two games straight that the Buccaneers have won by exactly four points.

Bellflower's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Norwalk lost to Bellflower on the road by a decisive 56-42 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Norwalk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
