Softball Preview: Ralston Valley Mustangs vs. Columbine Rebels
The Ralston Valley Mustangs will face off against the Columbine Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Ralston Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Monday, Ralston Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Valor Christian and fell 7-6. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Columbine faced Chatfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Columbine might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to Chatfield, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Liv Keiter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Nina Vargas was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Ralston Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Columbine, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4.
