Baseball Game Preview: Valor Preparatory Academy Knights vs. Bracken Christian Warriors

The Valor Preparatory Academy Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Bracken Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Valor Preparatory Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bishop Reicher Catholic on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 21-20.

James Hoagland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-5. Luke Curtice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Bracken Christian came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 20-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Tristan Mahurin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dalton Dresch, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
