Softball Game Preview: Bay Path RVT Minutemen vs. Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers

Bay Path RVT hasn't had much luck against Blackstone Valley RVT recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Minutemen will look to defend their home field against the Beavers at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bay Path RVT has six straight victories, Blackstone Valley RVT has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Monday, Bay Path RVT got the win against Assabet Valley RVT by a conclusive 19-7. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Bay Path RVT let Gabby Lapan and Miranda Linde run wild. Lapan scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Linde scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Liz Bennington, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Blackstone Valley RVT scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montachusett RVT.

Bay Path RVT pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
