Football Game Preview: Trinity Leadership Tigers vs. Scurry-Rosser Wildcats

The Trinity Leadership Tigers will challenge the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Scurry-Rosser will be up against a hot Trinity Leadership team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Tigers breezed past Rice to the tune of 50-16 on Thursday.

Alvin Sims produced another solid effort rushing for 229 yards while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.2 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity Leadership was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Meanwhile, Scurry-Rosser never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-0 victory over Inspired Vision. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Trinity Leadership better keep an eye on Eli Hutchins. He was instrumental in Scurry-Rosser's win, throwing for 61 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 40 yards. Hutchins' passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. Another big playmaker for Scurry-Rosser was Landon Draper, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Scurry-Rosser, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Draper, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Scurry-Rosser's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Trinity Leadership, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
