Soccer Game Preview: Morro Bay vs. Nipomo

The Morro Bay Pirates will square off against the Nipomo Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Morro Bay's offense. They lost 3-0 to Cabrillo on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Nipomo waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Royals a 5-0 shutout. Considering the Titans have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Mission College Prep with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Juan Diego Zarate (3), Damian Corona, and Kayson Jett.

Nipomo pushed their record up to 10-6-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Morro Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-1.
