The third road game was the charm for the Shaker Bison, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Ballston Spa on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Shaker, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lexi Carrington was a one-man wrecking crew for Shaker as she scored 26 points along with six steals. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hoblock, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Despite the defeat, Ballston Spa saw an underclassman step up: Aubrey Kramer scored 15 points along with four steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Sophia Lee was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Shaker has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Ballston Spa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker will face off against Kingston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Kingston's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Ballston Spa, they will head out on the road to face off against Schenectady at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Schenectady will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Ballston Spa is ranked 176th).
