Baseball Recap: Shawnee Victorious

Shawnee came out on top against West Windsor-Plainsboro South on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Renegades walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Pirates.

Drew Tenet tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Chris Ahrens was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Byrne, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for West Windsor-Plainsboro South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Shawnee will be playing at home against Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for West Windsor-Plainsboro South, they will venture away from home to take on Steinert at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
