Basketball Game Preview: Gentry Pioneers vs. Green Forest Tigers

The Gentry Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Green Forest Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gentry has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Gentry can't be too worried about heading out to take on Green Forest: they just beat Gravette at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Gentry strolled past Gravette with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 69-53.

Meanwhile, Green Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-32 defeat at the hands of Shiloh Christian. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Saints are ranked 61st).

Green Forest's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Gentry, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-11.

Gentry came up short against Green Forest when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 45-39. Can Gentry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
