While Chavez's win against Verdugo Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Dons on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 7, 2025.

Lenina Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Gabby Duran looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Alyssa Anaya was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Billingsley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The victory got Chavez back to even at 9-9. As for Verdugo Hills, they moved to 10-9-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Chavez nor the Dons have any future games scheduled.
