Softball Recap: Childersburg Takes a Loss

Childersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ranburne Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Childersburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alaysha McKinney, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. McKinney has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Childersburg's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Ranburne, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Childersburg will face off against Fayetteville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ranburne, they will square off against Weaver at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ranburne's pitchers better be ready for this one: Weaver has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
