Recap: Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs vs. Lanier County Bulldogs
With a playoff game on the line, the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 41-35 victory over Lanier County. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Lanier County still got an impressive performance from Nehemiah Davis, who rushed for 173 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Davis was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bj Jones, who picked up 159 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Emanuel County Institute is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Lanier County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Emanuel County Institute will head out on the road to face off against Early County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Early County is ranked 233rd, while Emanuel County Institute is ranked 240th). Lanier County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
