Basketball Recap: Monroe Find Success

Monroe extended their postseason success on Friday against Hendersonville. They came out on top against the Hendersonville Bearcats by a score of 59-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Bryson Simpkins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last seven games he's played. Zavion Ivey was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points.

Despite the loss, Hendersonville still got an impressive performance from Martiste Mills, who shot 41% from the field en route to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Mateo Archer, who posted five points.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Hendersonville, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 20-8 record.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-36 defeat against Reidsville on the 4th. Hendersonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
