Recap: Weequahic Indians vs. DeWitt Clinton Governors

After flying high against the Tech Panthers on Thursday, the Weequahic Indians came back down to earth. Weequahic took a serious blow against DeWitt Clinton on Saturday, falling 90-56. While losing is never fun, Weequahic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 340th in New Jersey, while DeWitt Clinton is ranked 27th in New York).

Weequahic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tasir Barnes, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyhir Barlow, who scored 13 points.

Weequahic's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for DeWitt Clinton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weequahic will take on Eagle Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeWitt Clinton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tuitt at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Tuitt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully DeWitt Clinton likes a good challenge.
