Basketball Recap: Los Fresnos Falcons vs. San Benito Greyhounds
After flying high against Hanna last Tuesday, Los Fresnos came back down to earth. The Los Fresnos Falcons fell to the San Benito Greyhounds 50-46. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 59-42 defeat two weeks ago.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Benito to victory, but perhaps none more so than Angelina Reyes, who posted 21 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Los Fresnos has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-18 record this season. As for San Benito, their record is now 22-13.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Los Fresnos will take on Weslaco at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Weslaco will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Los Fresnos surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Benito, they will face off against Edinburg North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
