Basketball Recap: Naugatuck Comes Up Short

Naugatuck lost against Torrington back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Naugatuck Greyhounds came up short against the Torrington Raiders, falling 69-45. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.

Torrington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Tucciarone, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Tucciarone has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chris De La Cruz, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Naugatuck has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points over those games. The victory made it two in a row for Torrington and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

As of now, neither Naugatuck nor Torrington have any future games scheduled.
