Football Recap: Palm Beach Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Pahokee

Palm Beach Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Pahokee Blue Devils by a score of 27-25 on Friday. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Palm Beach Central lost, don't look at Chance Routson. Despite the final result, he threw for 344 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards and two TDs. A healthy portion of Routson's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Jayden St. Fort, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Looking ahead, Palm Beach Central is taking a road trip to take on West Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pahokee, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
